What about signed, "limited edition" prints? I've read elsewhere that signed prints are much easier to sell. I'd suggest that part of the added premium of "limited" prints be used to ship the print to the artist to sign/number then forward to the buyer. Of course, the artist would have to keep careful records to maintain the integrity of the edition.
