License agreements are adhesion contracts. In essence, you have to adhere to them or not enter into the deal. They are not face to face negotiations. Both parties are bound. Ok, some years ago I bought a C++ compiler for $1000. Yeah, spendy. Unlimited usage, no royalty. The upgrade limited to 25,000 distributions and after that you had to pay royalties to the compiler mfgr. I didn't install the update. See, if I had, I would be locked into the new deal, but just because there was a change in an update doesn't mean I was locked into it with the original product. Look at your original license agreement, print it, put it in a folder, and stand by that and if the update limits the license, make your decision. Choose wisely grasshopper, or in another genry, walk softly and carry a large negotiating stick (and seek to modify the license with the mfgr).
