I give up. What gives? I try to add conforming clothes to my figures, and this is all I get. Using magnets distorts the fabric too much, and I can never get them to fit anyway. What is the secret to using conforming clothes?

try resizing the part of the clothing itself. IE highlight the chest of hte dress and use x, y and z size dials to get it to fit. Shae

The problem is that it is conforming to the body that is suppossed to be there .. so whenever dials are used to change stuff (like breasts and make them super heroes it doesn't work to well S Good luck

the clothes won't conform if you use MT's or magnets on the figure behind maybe it's just the way the dress is sitting, but I think those breasts are larger than the default figure you'll need to make matching MT's for the clothing to make it work SewerRat

Sewer: you nailed it :) The clothes won't conform to a figure that has been modified out of default shape with morphs or magnets. What you need to to apply a magnet to the chest and collar's of the dress that will enlarge the z and x dimensions (maybe the y as well). -Trav (Anyone want a tutorial on using magnets on clothes?)

For Traveler- A magnet clothing tutorial would be great! And while we are on the subject... Your earlier post and your readme on your female head regroup says "go to Morph World and go through magnet Tutorial # 3.??? I can't find anything but one basic morph tutorial on Morph World. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Pinto

Ask and you will receive smile. I was just going looking for a magnet tutorial. I knew there was one--thought it was yours. I'm at the point where I need to know this--you know me--I work on a 'need to know' basis smile. Well, SO far that has worked. Diane B

I think the problem is that a lot of people misunderstand the word "conform." It doesn't mean that it automatically resizes the clothes to fit the shape of the figure, what it does is alighn the clothes to the position of the body. The size is irrelevant. If you have an unusually shaped figure (s this one appears to be), the clothes are not going to automatically expand the bodice to fit her breasts. It only aligns the sleeves to the arms, pants to the legs, collar to the neck, etc., as far as the position of where they are. At least that's my understanding. I hope I got that right. Melanie

This is why collision detection has always been the number one request for Poser 5 (If there will ever be a Poser 5)

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

I am working on a set of base magnets that can be applied to any of the clothes to adjust sizes, widths, etc. They will be ready in a few days, with a tutorial to match. -Trav

I hate magmets! I can't figure out how to work the retched things. Once you get them on there, how do you make them go away, i.e., the big red magnet is sticking out of my figure's face. If it delete it, the modification I made with the magnet also deletes. Do I make it invisible, or is there something I'm supposed to do with it so it isn't showing? The documentation that comes with Poser is completely useless. The user manual should be burned. (Sorry, I'm in a weird mood this morning becuase I have to go to work a half an hour early and I'm tired!) :-) Melanie

Ok Melanie, here are some answers :) To Make the magnet see-through: -Select the magnet part -Display-->Element-->Outline Now instead of a big red magnet, you have a magnet outline. To make the magnet's effect permanant so you can delete it: -Select a body part under the magnets effect -Object-->Spawn Morph -Give the morph a name -Keep doing this until all of the affected parts are done -Delete the magnet -Now go through and set all the morph dials you made to 1 And go to Morph World :) I have three tutorials on magnets there. -Trav

Trav, you're great! Thanks for the info. Those magnets have been bugging me ever since the release of P4. Much appreciated! Melanie

You're welcome :) Magnets are the grooviest part of P4 once you get them wrangled. -Trav
