Now this is where I really get into trouble. 1.) If the name of the forum is "Writers' Forum," the current name is correct. 2.) If the name is just "Writers," then the ' isn't needed at all. It's like starting a sentence, then walking away. The ' indicates that something belongs to someone. Here we don't say who belongs to what. I'm gone. Sorry.
