I have PhotoShop 5.5 and Painter 6.0 and I ALWAYS go to PhotoShop when I need to make a mask (even if I'm going to do everything else in Painter). Masks in Painter are horrendous compared to PhotoShop. On the other hand, I almost always do textures in Painter as it does a much better job than PhotoShop (remember my picture on the piece of "wood"?). I also go to Painter when I need a pattern because of it's outstanding pattern capture abilities and the weave generator (which PhotShop doesn't even have). -Jim
