doruksal, that is indeed a cigarette but in the last one. I didn't notice it before. It was rather late when I downloaded from my camera and re-sized. It will have to go! And caledonia, I went back there today and got a second look at the curbs. Granite or quartz, all the sidewalks in the area have the curb carved of stone. Many of the bricks have been covered with concrete, with the stone curb remaining. Also, the curb street corners aren't corners at all, but a huge carved circle. It roundness gives the intersections a somehow more picturesque feel to it over the pointed street corners. And azy, it must be herrington. In TV, there is an interference pattern called herrington that has the same saw tooth pattern. That's enough evidence for me! I found some more really cool lost treasures in that part of town the last couple of days. I'll post some this weekend. I'm glad you liked these old bricks! ;~) marshall
