"Umm, advising people not to buy the book IS in essence a boycott." Shadowcat, I didn't say we should advise people not to buy, what I said was to let newbies know that it's not a very good book. That way they can make their own decision whether or not to buy it. In the dictionary I have, Boycotting is defined as refusing to do something, such as buying the book or whatever. It doesn't say anything about advising people not to do something. It's up to each individual to decide for him or herself whether or not to buy it or just ignore it. That was all I meant.
