Actually, both Romans and Greeks wore tunica. Togas were worn by adult Roman men over a tunica, and by Roman prostitutes. For men, a long tunica was worn more formally, and a short (above the knees) one worn by soldiers, workers, slaves... i.e. the guys actually doin' stuff. I have a sort of woman's tunica on my website, although it's not very good.
