Thank you both for responding, but that bee looks so very different from the ones buzzing all over my backyard every day....maybe I have a unique kind?! The one above looks a lot like a honey bee, rather than a bumblebee, to me. Mine are very round (fat) and have much, much more hair and are pale yellow and black striped. They look comical as they move from flower to flower---so fat and drunken on nectar that it seems impossible that they can stay airborne at all! Tried to reach EmpKen by email, but the address Jaybutton had is apparently an old one and he's never been logged on for IM when I've checked..........Any more ideas??
