Subject: Help - I cannot make movies in Poser any more :( ???

I tried to make a movie in Poser the other day and it would not work. Even a small 30 frame movie will not output at all. It creates an .avi file of 0 size and just spins the CPU. I previously was able to make movies just fine so I thought I might have to re-install Poser. I re-install and still no go. I am using Poser 4 with the 4.03 upgrade. I have Win2K, AMD 1900+, 512MB RAM. Anyone have any ideas? I'm desperate for help!!!

The same thing happened to me the otherday. Very much frustrated me. I creayed an animation. Put it into AVI. Went to watch the movie and nothing. Then I went to play the animation in poser 4 pro pack. I select the play button and nothing happens. I save the animation in poses, restarted poser and wala. Dont know what was up with that.

Have you tried different codecs? When you go to make movie, do you have frames 1 thru 30 (or whatever) selected?

I can't select a different codec. I have "sequence type" being AVI or frames. I can output frames, but not the AVI. Yes, I do have frames 1 to 30 selected.

try going to control panel, multimedia, devices, codec - see what's listed there. Have you recently installed new media players?

I don't have that in Win2K. I have Sounds And Multimedia, but it's only sound stuff. I recently installed Windows Media Player 7.1 and I still have 6.4 lying around. Sometimes I open a specific movie and it will go to 6.4, but most of the time it is 7.1. Perhaps that is a problem. I could try wiping media player out and starting fresh there. Would that be worth a shot?

I don't have win2k, but it should be about the same, you have to CLICK on multimedia, then on that menu,Devices, then on that menu Video Compression Codecs. I think going back to your earlier player would be worth a try -

I have found my codecs list. First I uninstalled 7.1, but nothing changed. Then I removed DivX. Still nothing. So I put them back on. My codecs are: asus1 asus2 Cinepak DivX 5.0 Indeo Indeo 5.1 MS RLE MS Video 1 msh261 msh263 msyuv
