Yes Cat I have done this, with an Image that almost killed my photography by being so successful, I stopped taking pictures, as every image I produced was benchmark against it. The strange thing was that when I look at the original now it looks so ordinary and the reworked version is so much stronger, needless to say I have not entered it in any exhibitions, just in case. I like your reworked image my only comment would be to tone down the white area in the bottom left to stop it compeating with the face. :O)
