Barbarellany, to avoid having a huge JPEG, it's best to repeat a small image many times over a large tiled surface. the image above uses my "sf-Tiled Surface Pack 1", it's available in the free stuff, and the includes the "BRICK.jpg" which is only 4.73kb in size. Just scale the props till the bricks look the right size.
