During my own testing of the import/export, I used both rewriteable and write-once media. Last night I confirmed this again... ... the disk has to be formatted before PBooost can use it, though. I used CD Creator 5 "CD Direct" and, once formatted, it works just fine. I think you may just have missed the boat with your Writer... it can't format the Write-once CDs for this kind of access.
