What format are you saving your file in? if you open your image in Photoshop you can select "save a copy" and select jpeg from the dropdown list in the dialog box then it will ask you to set a compression ( a slider) select 7 or so to keep the quality but keep the file size down. ..also. I read (Photosop Bible) that if you save a jpeg..open it ......save it again...open it.. save it again....... the compression happens again and again.. and it gets progressivly worse. so watch out for that.
