Hi Grey_cat, I've been modeling only with LW in mind, which supports variable smoothing angles (no need to split vertices/edges) and it also supports single polygons with up to 1024 points (not limited to 4-point polys with a preference for 3-point polygons). I'm sure MAYA, C4D, MAX and the other high end modeling programs do something similar (don't really know, sorry). It has been very tedious to go back and "de-optimize" an efficient mesh and break it apart to deal with these Poser idiosyncracies. A pre-conversion mesh in LW weighing in at around 3,000 polygons usually bloats to about 8,000 polygons post conversion. I guess I just have to unlearn some old modeling habits to make the conversion process smoother. Such is the nature of the beast, I guess. :o) - M
