Good to hear about the laptop issue. I'm planning on upgrading my computer as well, and P5 would not be the only app for which I may have to do re-registration. A hassle? Yes. Will I live? Yes. And while it may sound cold, I have a hard time working up sympathy for anyone who is upgrading their HD so frequently that it becomes a major problem (with the possible exception of business use). As for wastes of time, one need go no further than this thread for one. The fact is that CL tried this once, but relented in the face of complaints of the very type made here ad nauseum for at least a week now. Then CL implemented this system for their other products, so they have an idea of the degree to which the system affects their sales and piracy of their work. Knowing something about the costs (including the cost of the third-party security vendors) and benefits, CL chose to implement it with P5 also. The inference to be drawn is fairly obvious, isn't it? Of course, members here are free to complain to the extent that the mods and the ToS allow. I have one tiny request. If you want to continue to beat a dead horse, could you at least title your post something like "Beating a dead horse about P5 security," or "Repeating the arguments against P5 security codes, in case you missed them last hour?"
