Boy, these things are so hard to talk about without seeming like I'm trying to slander someone or hide some great conspiracy! Please keep in mind:

1. We don't ban many people here - and most bans are clone accounts of previously banned members.
2. Being annoying is not against the TOS. It takes a lot more than having a bad day to get a warning.
3. Sometimes there is more to the issue than what is seen on the forums - private IMs, e-mails, etc.

I could give a comprehensive list of issues that led to the banning, but that wouldn't be professional of me, nor would it be fair to Ron Knights. When it is necessary to take action - for warnings or bannings, we privately e-mail or IM the person to explain our reasons. If a member disagrees with the reasoning, they're allowed to explain their position and there have been cases where we've reversed our decision - chalking it up to a misunderstanding by one or both parties. There have been at least 3 private conversations between RK and one or more staff here. I can say in public that because it is a part of our TOS to give multiple chances.

We don't take warnings and bannings lightly. There's always a discussion first between mods and admins to make sure that we're being fair and not misinterpreting things or acting out of personal feelings instead of acting in everyone's best interest.

I think it would be best for Ron Knights if everyone let this thread drop. There are reasons that many people here have expressed relief at his absense - publically and privately.
