Hi tresamie - both these programs are great, I have both, and I don't regret buying either. The images created with each program are very different from each other, so it isn't necessarily and either / or thing on that respect. You get a load more for you money with UF, and the chance to try before your buy, and it's a bit cheaper. I think it also has more staying power because of the huge public database of formulas that is available, as well as a very active and supportive mailing list. So if it was me, I would download UF, try it for the 30 day trial period, and if you get on ok with it, register it. If you hate it, you can always uninstall UF and fork out for XD at that stage.
