I doubt even if they knew how lacking the equipment was it would have stopped them from trying to save as many lives as possible. They are heroes, as are all who place their lives in danger to save others. And what don't we get? That on that day we remembered we live in a great nation? That, as a nation, as one, on that day, we realized how fragile life is and how important our loved ones are, and how soon they can be taken from us? That we found our courage, pride, and strength to stand together to protect what we feel is important, our freedom and our way of life. That we found there are greater things than fulfilling our own small selfish needs and to look at the bigger things in life, the things that really matter. That on that day, we learned how feel the anguish of others and how to be a little kinder and a little more understanding and to offer our strength to help support them. These are some of the things I GET from September 11th. Goddess Bless America!
