I'm still fairly new to Bryce, or 3D modelling in general, so this may sound like a stupid newbie question. I have bitmaps of the Raider's Shield, logo, and a football. Could someone recommend a tutorial and/or advice on the best way to create a 3d model objects of these images? I was able to place the bitmap of the Raider's shield on a flat surface (see attached jpg), but a 3D object would be much easier to work with. And yes, I know that the object I placed the bitmap on is not aligned correctly. Like I said, I'm still feeling my way around this wonderful program. Thanks! Hop

Well, depending on the nature of the bitmap, you can use the Bryce terrain editor to create your logo-object. At the top, in the terrain editor, go to pictures. Change the resolution on the terrain to like 512 or so, then load in the picture, and just clip the edges... It might sound weird but it's really simple once you know where to click!

Yeah, that is how I did the sample above, although I struggled with it. I had a heck of a time showing just the shield, and not the black box it was contained in. I didn't clip the edges though, not sure how, and it sounds easier than what I did which was to use a mask. I just wanted to give the shield, logo, or any 2d image, some depth. I was hoping there was a down and dirty garage cheap method. I'd love to use 3D Capturor ($13k) from InSpeck, or ShapeSnatcher ($7.5k) from Eyetronics, but my wallet just isn't thick enough. Hop

One thing I'd like to mention, since I'm a newb to this group and haven't seen it mentioned yet... If you clip something from the top in terrain/lattice editor, remember to check the "render as solid" in the pulldown menu under the working area. It'll help you from getting what I call the "cookie cutter" effect. (So called because the resulting object is an outline of what you're trying to make, and thus resembles a cookie cutter.) I know that it annoyed me for a good while to I figured that one out. LOL. L8R!

You don't necessarily need any other tools, Hop... here's a quickie screenshot of the clipping bracket, hope it helps...
