For one day, one hour, one minute of silence, the world was as it should be - we were one. I also want to echo my voice of appreciation for the worldwide sentiment and comforting that the US and those affected on that fateful day recieved. Although I wept at the loss of life and the ensuing battle to try to save life, I think what touched me the deepest was the international response. Sure, some countries used it as a means of airing their political agendas, but the overwhelming response from the worldwide community after the fact restored a long lost respect in me for humanity as a whole. Even on this day, a year later, countries the world over shared in our remembrance of what happened. Perhaps, out of the rubble we will see the dawning of a new day - when all of humanity can set aside petty differences and truely live as one.
