Sony VAIO laptop, 1.2Ghz Athlon, 512M RAM, Poser installed on 16G Drive D (Windows and Office on Drive C) give items a rating 1-10, 10 being the best. respond n/a if you haven't gotten that far yet. 1. ease of security code install 10: very easy process 2. ease of face room 8: seems easy to use, but it will take practice to get good results 3. ease of hair creation (new styles) 5: after a few minutes, I couldn't get ANY hair to grow! 4. overall render speed (figure in complexity of image) 6: the render time will be longer because of the new features, but it's still slower than the (far superior) render-engine in Lightwave 5. overall ease of user interface 8: about the same as Poser 4 (for good or bad) 6. quaility of P4 renders 10: about the same as P4 (for good or bad) 7. quaility of firefly renders 8: a little better than P4, but I haven't fully tested everything yet 8. program stability 10+: after all the switching to rooms and rendering and switching characters and rendering and loading... never crashed or locked up once. multiple choice section 1. Judy is... b. better than posette, but worse than Vicky 1 she is definitely different, but I am a little disappointed that she doesn't come with tons of body morph targets like Vicky 2 2. Don is... b. better than dork, but worse than Mike 1 same as above- a little "odd" looking, but I wish he has morphs also 3. I would rate the value of P5 as.. d. just right, worth every penny And, as a merhcant selling Poser items, this could be a tax-deduction againt my income! Here's the big question- will the 3D-graphics community view Poser 5 as a "professional tool" or will it still be seen as a "toy"? --John
