The render was just the p4 (not FireFly or any of those other ones)for the jpeg at the top of this thread. For the movie, I just made a straight "render as display settings" rather than even use the p4 render. I let the windows default codex fly at 75% quality. (It was 4am and I kept passing out at my keyboard from sleep deprivation - dang new software!)
As for collision detection, I just let the collisions set up in the cloth room do their thing... wasn't sure whether to turn on the other or not... that's another test for another time. I excuded everything from collision except the chest/torso area, hips, butts and thighs.
This was a site better than some other attempts I had made, but perhaps I posted too early without perfecting the process first. I'm open to suggestions - as we all know there are no specific tuts for this yet other than the manual and what came with the program (I am not familiar with those other programs - Max - etc that use similar cloth setups as mentioned in another thread)... so my process is trial and error with the errors winning most of the time.
Thanks for the comments, everyone - maybe some other folks will post what they are up to and we can move ahead.
