These pics are from Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces or Face Forward if I'm not mistaken. The one I'm thinking of also features a remarkable gallery of celebrity makeovers made to look like other classic celebrities -- the portrait of Veronica Lake is breathtaking by itself, but even moreso when you discover the model is Martha Stewart. He's *that* good. (I can't be sure, but I think the first model above is Ellen DeGeneres.) Sometime around 1986 Joan Collins published a coffeetable book about herself and one page was a simple picture of her without her makeup. She looked like Linda Lavin from "Alice." You'd never pick her out of a crowd.
