OK, here goes my interpretation: Love is held by the writer to be one of the utmost goals to attain but it also has the potential to bring great sadness should failure be found instead. The writer decides it is worth the danger and sets out on a plan (step one)... writing something for the person of the writer's desires. In other words, the writer is sweet on someone...hehe. And writing a love poem presents a relatively safe way to begin his journey. Of course, I could be wrong. Like that's ever happened! (grin) I think it reads pretty well. A tempo here or there. But, as I have said, I barely qualify to discuss story-telling. The ability to discuss poetry is much farther down the scale of my talent. PS: Considering your name and the similar poems you write, are you lonely? (slaps self for being nosey)
