"The amount of profit associated with Mac sales (about 4% of total)..." The 4 pecent figure came from where? Are you projecting Apple's market share onto the number of Poser users? If so, that's bad statistics. The slim Mac figures tossed around so easily are hugely skewed by the fact that globally, most businesses use PCs. Think of it: millions of offices all over the world equipped with PCs. But how many of them have Poser installed? Or Photoshop? I'd like to see the stats on home useres and hobbyists. I'll bet that would even things out a tad. There was a poll here on R'osity a while back and if I'm not mistaken, about 30-40 percent of the Poser users who responded were Mac users. I'd be interested in kupa's response as to what percentage of their sales of P4 were Mac versions, if he can give that kind of info. And, while I'm a devoted Mac man, I'm also a cross-platform user and I have to say that PCs are definitely beginning to take a place in the graphics arena. For me, it's the platform I don't like, not the machine. That's a distinction I see few people make (except Penguin fans). My machine at work (a PC) has crashed on me precisely once in the last year. Don't ask me to count how many times I've crashed my Mac in the last month. But I f***ing hate using Windows and I hate supporting Microsoft's corporate policies and strategies. End of rant.
