Subject: Terrain editor Shift Key problems?

Hi all, Anyone ever have problems using the "shift" key within the terrain editor? It's supposed to constrain the mouse movement to horizontal, vertical, and 45 degrees.. which it does, but it is not very consistant. It I draw slowly it ALWAYS constrains the mouse horizontal. If I try moving the mouse in a swift/sweeping motion it sometimes works.. example sweep the mouse 45 degrees from left to right it SOMETIMES works... however, it usually just sticks to the horizontal or vertical. Having to move it so fast pretty much makes the feature useless anyways. Anyone hear of this before? I'm using Win2k, Bryce 5 with update. I had a wacom tablet installed but I uninstalled it to see if that helped, but it didnt. Thanks for any info, Blue

try starting the movement with mouse only and introduce the shift key asplit second later

tried it but no go. It loves doing horizontal.. and I can get it to go vertical pretty often. 45 degrees forget it. It's hit and miss. I played with the different mouse settings but nothing seems to work. Thanks for the input.. Blue

Yup, I use this action a lot and it SUCKS in Bryce 5, I don't know what happened from B4 to B5. Airflamesred is right, that is the way to do it, it just takes the fingers and patience of a brain surgeon to pull it off. I kind of stroke the cursor back and forth in the direction I want to go... I then push down the shift key, stroke back and forth a couple more times... Then I click the mouse button only in mid-stroke. *It's still comes down to stupidly precise timing. And practice, lots of it. AgentSmith
