Assuming a screen resolution of 800600 (about 40% of people who browse the web) after you subtract the browser navigation, status bar, and 'start bar/apple menu' you end up with: Mac NS: 772437 PC NS: 773407 Mac IE: 748431 PC IE: 774*420 I did some screenshots a while back for the design firm I work at. Based on these numbers we chose to do all web design to fit a 770 pixel width and to look ok when the page fold happens at around 420 pixels in height.
