In an attempt to be objective, historically speaking violence is the force of Change in society. Without it, we would face decay and lack of growth, as the gene pool would be taken over by the peaceful elements. Without it, we would have never triumphed over the world's trials and tribulations, be they storms or volcanos or predatory animals. I speak hypothetically, and I would never condone useless violence, nor do I condone the loss of innocent life. But change is necessary for growth, and we will all die one day. Well, most of us...
