Just a thought. Folks can upload freebies on their basic logon account. Should Osity require a more detailed account for freebie / merchant uploads? For example ask for credit card (to check authenticity and identity) and ask for contact info and then do a reference check before allowing freebie / merchant uploads? I think there's value in this because if a problem does occure, the downloader will want to know how and who to contact if things go wrong. All any of you know about me is that I'm EricofSD and my email addy. If you had to contact me with a real problem you'd be waiting for a voluntary response. If you had to find me for service of process in a suit, it would be a snap for the computer savy and a heartache for folks who don't know how to do internic whois, or 411, etc. Why should buyers or freebie downloades be in the dark like this? Shouldn't there be a disclosure statement that has the pertinent info? And how would the uploaders (freebie/merchants) be protected from the trolls who are looking for a slip and fall suit, or those who don't investigate well enough to realize their crash was from something else? Holy Smoke, Batman! Don't turn your Bat dial, stay tuned next week for answers to these and other riddling questions.
