Scanning a dead cat isn't cruel, so long as you don't kill the cat to be able to. Just finding a dead cat and scanning it is in no way cruel. Just stinky and gross. Although I might be able to defend the drugged-up thing on the basis that I have three cats, and if I were to drug up two of them, they would be just like the other one.
