I received an email message the other day with a suggestion, and It works. I feel stupid, but all I had to do is reinstall the Full Update of Vue 4.1, and it worked... sort of. It is crashing (or "unexpectedly quitting") occasionally, but it was doing the same thing in 10.1.5. The temporary fix is working and since e-on is working on the fix with 4.11 I'm satisfied.
