I upgraded to 1 gig sdram-- from 383. Suddenly I wasn't crashing anymore. And I had 30 g of scratch disk. My new machine-- for Graphics only-- has 2G-- it's a Dell, I think it's sdram. Poser 4 is on it's own firewire drive, it's slow to start because I'm a pig and have bought nearly everything. But relatively fast renders, did one last night with Echidna, Melusine, TransPond's Poseidon, tons of other props, ton of lights-- 12 minutes to bring up the Pz3 file but under 5 minutes to render. I can work easily with my display on full texture, too which is optimum. I simply couldn't afford the ddram-- it would have added another thousand when I was upgrading-- and Fryes didn't have enough anyway. Dell didn't offer it. I haven't regretted it. I am a little dissappointed with the slower firewire, but with infinite ability to add storage that won't crash if my puter does, I'll get over it. Emily
