I found a tutorial by jba on disrupted fractals that uses the DTE to produce the effect, it makes the DTE less intimadating, and fun actually. Also helped me understand what happens when the different channels are used together to produce an image, a couple of my gallery entries used the DTE exclusively....if anyone's interested...
