Chuck: I wanted to keep the hole center somewhat bright with the outsides dark--the opposite of most wormhole images I have seen. I was trying to create the impression of an immense surrounding force. I copied a Hubble image of the Orion Nebula and applied the pic to several overlapping, transparent plates with different colors. Then I created an elongated cylinder with black cloud textures. I then stretched the cylinder through the nebula images and moved the camera inside the cylinder.
