There is NO problem when importing Poser 4 figures as Pz3 files. They come with all the mappings and transparencies and bumpmaps. OBJ and 3ds Files... depends! Depends on what? I'm not sure, but some programs seems not to export the classical OBJ or 3ds files. But these are exceptions. Just before answering here to your question, I have imported 8 OBJ and 4 3ds files into Vue 4. Except 1 3ds object (could only see a small point in Vue and impossible to resize??), evey thing came in fine. When importing OBJ, you have to take care that all the mappings are in the same folder as the OBJ file itself. One of the files (a tree) had a transparency map, it only came into Vue at 50% trans, but that's not a problem, as we can just push the transparency to 100% in 2 seconds. Normally I prefer to work (except Poser4 figures and Poser4 objects) with OBJ. That's why I mostly convert all other files Lwo, 3ds, etc. into Wavefront OBJ. Vue 4 is very addicting. Take care before you buy. If you have to lose 10 pounds or more, then buy it quickly, because mostly you will forget to eat:-)... and to sleep... and to call your family, friends...
