hauksdottir, Meanwhile, in South City (So.S.F.), I'd dig in the 'Fransiscan' clay behind the house (probably the same sort of stuff as in San Diego) to help with the garden and of course to build forts. It's hard to dig in let alone grind, but then that's why we should treat horses and the like well - so they can do some of the work for us should the electricity and petroleum powered tools go away. But then the clay just an analogy rathe than the point. I do know where to get the ochre though, but its a long walk through the basin and range provence of Nukevada. - TJ
