right, i need a little help on a zip file matter! whan i download files for poser 4 and five, i know how to unzip them, i have even put them in the places they are supposed to go, but why cant i get them to work, is it because im doing it wrong, i read the read-mes, but half the time i cant make head nor tale what the hell they mean, if some one just tells me how to do it properly, how to put them in the right folders and stuff, i would be chuffed to pieces!

I think that there is an FAQ in the resources here, but, tell you what go here. http://205.122.23.229/ronknights/ His tutorial on putting stuff away is easy to understand and makes sense. If you are still having probs, take a look at the paths of each particular zip, and if they are screwed up do what I do, unzip all badly named paths into a folder called Improper Paths and hand transfer them from there. All kinds of thngs can screw a path up-- including capitalising or not capitalizing runtime. I find that any path that starts with Poser 4 will make it's own Poser 4 folder so that goes in the Improper folder and I straighten it out from there. Same with those that start with Programs. I only trust those paths that start with Runtime. Emily

Oh, and this question isn't silly-- I tore my hair out for a month until I learned the hard way how to do this. Emily

Somtimes, when you try to open an improperly installed model in Poser, you get error messages that show the file name with the path there's supposed to be to it. (usually, 'runtime/geometries/"etc../etc..") Write those down, then move the files to the locations that were shown, and make sure the folder names are exactly the same as what you saw in the error message(s). This usually fixes things up. Unless Poser is looking for files that you didn't get in the first place. There's been lots of times I've had that happen.
