If you'd like to save a LOT of money, custom build your own computer. With all of the "jumperless" motherboards you can get now, it's really not too difficult to do. Buy the fastest and best parts you can afford. DO NOT scrimp on the quality of the motherboard! Decent one's will cost you $150 or more. Get a CPU fan that has a copper core. If you need to get another hard drive, do yourself a favor and DON'T get 'Maxtor' drives. (let's not start an argument people. OK?) THEY DON'T LAST. One of my computers is on it's 3rd one under warranty, costing me $12 to return it each time. I'm pretty sure that NONE of the 'Maxtor' drives I use here, are still the original one's I bought. Graphics card? Really depends on what else you'll be using your computer for. Won't make much difference, as far as Poser is concerned. Check other forums and user groups, for your other software that's graphics inetnsive. The LAST generation of cards have come way down in price, and might STILL be more that serviceable for you. I recommend at least 64 Megs of memory on it. Bottom line is... know the parts that you might get in your computer, and find out if they suck, or not. Check out general or specific forums for computer parts, etc. For example: http://www.icronticforums.com/index.php
