Oh discovered but I don't know why it too so long. D'oh. Forget the open gl I found, I've never used it but I found something that works even better and that's just plain old render it in sketch mode. I don't know why I never used it before but it's fast. I used to render in preview mode or better all the time to see how things lined up but I don't know why. Sketch is faster and better than open gl and you can see what's going on just fine.
