Pixels.net was giving away the full version 3.6 (&maybe 3.7) awhile ago, they were in the "downloads" section. I played around with V3.6 on a G3(400mgz) for several hours & was quite impressed with the Nurbs modeler. It allows for much more control then does the Carrara Mesh or Spline room tools. Pixels also has a SculptBrush (ala Amorphium) and it has an interesting image "WarpMesh" that can be accomplished somewhat within Carrara with Erics' AnythingGrooves plug plug-in. The shaders appear to be on par with Carrara, although both can be so complex that it's hard to tell. The boolean operations also seem to work better in Pixels and there appears to be more control & options for animations (especially with the available plug-ins). I also like the UI better as it's more flexible & doesn't hog the desktop. That being said, Pixels 3.6 (don't know about V4.1) didn't like playing with larger obj files from Poser. Carrara is much better at manipulating existing models that can be found all across the net. Also, there is a larger user base & available resources for Carrara. Eovia has demonstrated that they are committed to OSX & the Mac OS (they don't play games like Metacreations did & CuriousLabs does). You also get the Amapi modeler with Carrara which many say is a very powerful modeler if you take the time to learn it. The other caveat is that you need to "purchase" additional add-ons for more powerful functionality (like ShaderMakerPro etc). These are only initial thoughts & I haven't really done too much with Pixels. I'd see if there were a demo available for the new version & take it for a long spin. P.S., I don't normally support programs that have copy-protection "schemes"
