Well, there is a program called Jama3d (jamamagic also) at http://www.clickteam.com (have a french and an english version of site) but I have not used it.

I have used their MultiMediaFusion (been through 3 owners!) for simple game development like hangman and screensavers, etc and other than putzing around - works ok for me.

They do have a free demo download and have been working on the Jama3d for over 2 years to best of my knowledge so it just may work for a game.

Otherwise - easiest is to get the Directx Development Kit from microsoft and Visual Basic Programming Interface(unless you a big time C programmer - stick with VB).
