I know of one way ,with the program life forms 3.5 you can edit their motion capture data by adding to a motion ,for example for a running bvh file you could make the right arm move up and down to similate a dribble as the character is running ,it is a versatile program that could be a valuable tool ,I've only used the trial version and I do like it. check out the site.
