I agree... this can be done. But it's a bit simplistic to compare this kind of endeavor to the Linux project. A film with a strong narrative has to have a VERY consistent "look" - i.e. camera style, lighting style, movement... etc... If the look isn't consistent, it will be evident that there were too many "cooks for this stew." The idea is to have many cooks, but have a pleasant entree when all is said and done. No matter the strength of the plot, it will be imperative to have detailed storyboards before any rendering is done. It should all be very interesting. -sk
