I've had this happen when i've copied back to my hard drive any art that i've burnt to a CD...
also make sure you don't have it opened in another app (like a "save as"...)
another thing to watch for is those blasted "thumbnail" images created in Windows directories when you select a file. One time i could not throw away a file because it said it was "in use", even though PS was not launched. When i changed my "view" option to DETAIL and selected the file again, i was able to toss it... go figure!!!
I'll look into why Windows decides to change some of your file properties to "read-only"...
but if you do get another, you can cancel the "save" and locate the file in the Windows Explorer and deselect the "read-only" checkbox in the properties. I know its a pain but it's better than sorting through multiple versions of an image ;)
