Good Lord ... !!
You guys have really come through here and given me a lot more than expected - and especially you, bagginsbill. Thank you so very much for everything and for making me understand what can be achieved with IDL with some knowledge and experimentation. What you have contributed with is much more than I could have hoped for.
Now perhaps it would be a good time to explain myself a bit. When i "left" Poser, when it was in its P4 incarnation, I put everything I had into Photoshop instead. In due time I ended up doing beauty retouching work in the schools of Gry Garness and Amy Dresser and others alike.
Nowadays I still do Photoshop work but only what I myself find interesting enough to do. So now it's time to get to grips with Poser again and this time with a much better end result. The focus is to get as good a base image as I possible can with my (yet) limited skills, in terms of skintones and shading and from there take it into Photoshop to continue the magic. And of course, the better the base image the less I have to post edit in Photoshop.
I found the thread "A Dummies Guide to Indirect Lighting in Poser 8" from when IDL was first ...
And I give you a very special thank you for that, bagginsbill ! Oh yes - with that and other info having surfaced, I will have some serious evening reading to do for sure. Â :)Â
Did you  learn a bit about the shader nodes already?
Yes, bantah. In a fashion - but far from what I need to. So there's some catching up to do there too... Â :)

Quote - No lights here. My EnvSphere with an equirectangular photo of a very interesting room with high ceilings and big windows.
SWEET ! Ok - time to blow the dust off from my Nikon D5000 then 'cause now I can make my own environment maps !!

Ok - I get it, bagginsbill. Thanks ! :)
Seems I do have a lot of catching up to do about IDL and the main Q is now answered - what emits IDL, as in what is the source.
Click for my site full of free stuff in my signature.
Bookmarked as we speak and i certainly will explore it :)
Thank you for your very quick response !

Well, I also have an interest in AE and the possibilities to put DS generated imagery and/or footage into it. Haven't had the chance to try it out yet ( AE is ordered and on it's way ), but I'd say it's doable within reason.
But why not check out some free tutorials and awsome work of real AE pros and make up your own mind from there .. ?

Thank you very much, Karen1573 !
I already found the "Firefly render options"-page on his site via Google.

But, I seem to have missed to check out any further info on his site, as the one you are recommending here, so thank you very much for your pointer.

Agree with stormchaser. Thank you replicand for links to informative technical explanaitions. I appreciate it very much.
Been looking into the matter at similar places and it seems the acute problem with Poser still remains with stability. Much functionallity have been added indeed, but the mayor issues following along through the versions, causing unexpected crashes and what not still remain unattended or not solved, leaving the problem of not knowing wether the functionality will actually perform through or not.  Unfortunately, it seems too be something a Poser user will have to learn to live with and counteract for ...
But thank you ones again, replicand, for your help !!  :)

Thread: PS 6.0 & PS CS2 - how to cheat in photoshop (I have a kinda stupid question) | Forum: Photoshop
The book before the one you're referring to is named "How To Cheat In Photoshop - Second Edition" and if you want to search Amazon or some other book vendor site the ISBN is 0-240-51953-1 and 40 bucks is not too much. I've spent double that on other books and training material. You might want to check out Steve's "How To Cheat.." site too ? http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/home.html Be well and have fun ! -- Jiger --

Hi Philywebrider ! Thank you lots for your pointers. This gives me some math to do since I'm on metrics. The reason for the eyes not looking at the bouy is as simple as I didn't have any stock image of eyes looking in that direction. Had to do with what I got. -- Jiger --
Thread: Question about a tut. | Forum: Photoshop
email me and give me your email address. I can send it right over.<
Thanks, but no need to really.
I was just curios on how the tut was written. Unfortunately, things "drops off" in the writing process every now and then and it happends even with trade press like Computer Arts.
As far as I can see there really is a step missing at the end. Following these steps to the letter should get you to the point you're at which is not the whole way out.
Think bushi's Rusty Metal Tut will help you out.

Shadowrelm, where is this tutorial ? Think it would be easier to help you if we could have our own look at it in original. -- Jiger --

Just a shot in the dark here ... Have you tried different blending modes on the texture layer? -- Jiger --

Again I was first hehe ;)<
... and the winner of my secret Swedish Ginger Bread Cockies recipie is ... TIHOMIR !!! /LOL/
Thank you so very much, Tihomir !
(Wow - did that "excellent" boost my ego...)
No, it's not original at all but I tend to lean towards this kind of "classic elegance" style for some reason.
I had the image of Nikki, an image of a perfume bottle (the text on it is post) and the gladiolus and thought "let's see if we can make something that looks like an ad in one of those semi-glossy-pages mag's."
And man what a difference it is to work with stuff that's all professionally produced.
Just hope I haven't used any real brand names, tho. I know there's a female producs prducer named Cloe, but Cleo is the name of the local "seven eleven" down the block ...
Ok - now I'll go break my own trend and do some "grunge" ... ;-)

I think people by in large are resistant and resentful of people who are creative by their very nature.<
I'm with you, Ganthor.
Now I won't go in depth on the circumstances around my present situation being unemployed (was a baker and paistry chef). Let's just say that Swedish Rules Apply, but it means I have to deal a lot with officials at the Employment Office.
Talking to them about my ambitions renders a response like: "...and what planet did you say you come from..?" and a very good dose of - yes - resistance and resent.
But hey - fu** 'em. It's their shortcoming not knowing diddley about this workarea - not mine.
But now my dear and newly found friends I think it's time to close this thread - after 32 messages and now drifting slightly off topic.
I'll start a new one with another design I'd like to have all and any opinion(-s) about so we can keep this conversation going.
Also, I have to prepare for a new speach since I'm having a meeting with the bloody aliens at the Employment Office tomorrow...
Well met again at the new thread and a very big thank you all from my heart for taking your time to give me all the comments and pointers!
