Foleypro: so you mean "thats just the way it is"? You cant have soft shadows with the sun?

Agent Smith, Thanks, that was very helpful. And its the answer to having the a floor thats so dark it ruins the bottom lighting on objects because they reflect back darkness. Those scenes can also be done as two scenes, and then layered together. I think. lol

KAOM. LOL on the time travel, but lets hope, I could sure use that feature. DRUCK. agreed, since thats all it really is. And yes, no light dome, just the sun. obviously with a light dome it will look much better. I was just hoping to find a way to render quickly without the light dome. Also, the sun was at a more extreme angle than is optimal, but just to get as much from the "luminance mapping" lol, as I could

I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!! to the radial light setting question if your setting at 2 is too bright, and your setting at 1 is too dark. put the setting at 2, and change the light COLOR to a shade of gray. That is, change the value 255,255,255 TO 150/150/150. even at 10/10/10 you still get WHITE light!!!

Thanks. Now I know what to do with those true HDRI spherical images...convert them to lat/long. Thanks! Just out of curiosity, I wonder how many images of that virtual mirror ball we would have to render to properly put them together in HDR shop? Should have that info on the site. Ill check

the pool balls are reflective and the white sphere, while not an image, is being picked up by the balls. Perhaps this would not be called fake hdri, but its the same principal. Isnt it? lol (I will accept any answer and assume you are right!) Anyway, the brief description I have above was originally posted by Madmax BR5. Check out other posts by Shadowdragonlord, Agent Smith, Drawbridgerep on this subject.

Since we cannot use HDRI information in Bryce, we really only want a spherical LDRI. Just a spherical image. There would be no point to trying to jam all that extra information into the image using HDR shop if we intend to use it in Bryce. Agent Smith, am i right here??

Corel DID NOT create Bryce. They bought it. They do not know what it is, what is does, whats inside the box, how to figure it out, or what to do with its future. The creators of ARTMATIC, which is horribly only available on MAC, (as was Bryce in the beginning), are the ones who created Bryce. Get them to port Artmatic to the PC!!!!
