It is a pity that these amazing original P8 characters won't be imported in Vue 6! And it is even more worrying that (my) Vue 6i crashes when I try to import P8 hair!
At least there is no problem with other figures. So the problem must be the P8 CRC. There must be something new in there that Vue doesn't stomach. I really would like to know from a Smith Micro man what it is and if there is no way to change this (by a special python script or whatsoever).
:(
Thread: AVI texture in P6, starting in animation frame 1111 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Easiest solution:Â Separate out the part of the animation
that needs the AVI, and put it in a PZ3 on its own.
And how can I seperate this? I can cut the frames > 1788 away but I don't know how to cut the frames 1-1110 away.
The only solution I see is by saving all poses of all animated figures of this scene, cutting anything until frame 1 and then re-loading the poses onto all related figures...
Uh, does anybody know a material room solution?

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
Larry@LOL - Top notch and very well done!
I think this is the best way to react when something bothers at RR. Not complaining in the forum but expressing it with artwork!
This thread egged me this morning to produce the first tasteless & disgusting pseudo porn cropped-bodypart thubnail I did (as far as I can remember).
(@bobbystahr: Sorry Bobby, I did not care about your definition.)
Anyway, the viewing rate of this image with a simple christmas tree appears to be quite instructive.
@Fauve, I agree that some of these notorical pseudo-porn cropped-bodypart-thumbnail-clickers occasionally need a cold shower (or maybe a calm, peaceful xmas ambiente).

Thread: Thumbs in the Poser Gallery -- what is this idiocy?!? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
@randym77: > Yes, they're only pixels. But many people - especially > artists - see art as influential, meaningful, important. > It's not a trivial thing that has no effect on people. Agree. > IOW, they think life imitates art. Hmmmm.... I don't want to have a dragon and a sword at home. I don't want to have faery wings either or a horse or a spaceship or become an abstract... Guess particularly in the RR galleries the effect of art is different from being a paradigm of life. In the most cases it is simply amusement or distraction from the the daily monotony. And obviously - concerning the count of viewings - the most amusing kind of images are sexy portraits, nudes and pinups. And I am sure the viewers do not feel the urgent need to undress or even buy a sexy fantasy or fetish costume or faerie wings after viewing those images. They can easily make a difference between expressive and even touching objects on the screen and the real world. > If you believe that, then the "they're not real people" > argument doesn't apply. I believe that your thought is not conclusive. But maybe I misunderstood you and you merely have a much smarter definition of art than me, counting only 0.1% of all active RR members as artists.

@randym77:
I think the point is not nudity, but the objectification of women.
BTW, the third thubnail in fauve's list belongs to a man's body.
Yes, admittedly there are more women nudes (and more cropped images of women bodies) at the RR galleries than males. Even female artists prefer to post women nudes - most likely because pretty women's bodies look more beautiful and appealing than males.
Now about this objectification stuff: Believe me, I don't accept if someone treats me like an object against my will. But we are talking about images. Every depicted body, although having pose and expression, is actually an object. You cannot talk with them about the objectification of women. They are not real but only meshes or scanned dye or something like that. Hence they do not suffer when they are shown in a titillated manner.
And damn, what do you intend when you're creating a thubnail? Don't you want to titllate people and allure them to have a look at your image? Thubnails are like posters, they must cry, they have to be an eye candy. If someone wants to enjoy this site's visitors with beautiful, strong bodies, why should his thubnail contain a brain case or flowers or bees?
I guess at the bottom of this discussion is the imagination that some parts of a human body are more vulgar than others.
I do not share this view and I think a lot of RR members don't do that either.

@fauve:
I cannot speak for others, but I got your first post exactly.
And my question is:
Yes, I think cropping images down to boobs-butts-crotches
is tasteless, vulgar, and pseudo-porn.
Why?
Why should be a breast without a face more vulgar than with a face?
And why do you believe that this opinion is common-sense?

Dale_B@LOL
Ok, punch me, I confess: Guess I would check every thumb fauve presented (maybe except the sixth one) - too bad that he did not give us the links to the real images!
And no, I am not ashamed, on the contrary: Why do you think the creator gave us gurls and boyz amazing body parts that attract the attention of the people and make them feel higher?
And why should a beautyful breast without a head on the image be a sign of less artistry than a beautiful breast with a head?
Guess the problem is not on the thubnails but in your mind.
Thread: GUITTA - Good Bye... and thank to all of you for your amazing support !!! | Forum: Vue
Guitta created wonderful artwork and moreover, she helped others to become artists. I never was in a close contact with her over a long period, but I owe her very much. She was the most important tutor in my early Vue-ing days teaching many skills, how to wake up a living space with this tool. I believe that artistry is an indication that our life, albeit being brief, is of an immensurable value - it bears the seed of eternity within. Sincere condolences to you and your familiy, Gilles. - Ona

Hi pierrecolat, sometimes it is necessary to share the same fate for a real understanding of someone's argument. So I have the doubtful pleasure to announce that my picture 'Glasses' has been removed from the gallery. (If someone hasn't seen it, he/she may drop me an email) I agree with you complety. Discussing here and trying to make some innovative suggestions is just a wasting of time and energy. I have to take Renderosity as what it is; a shop with a 'pretty poster exhibition' but not a serious artists' community. Bye, Ona

Hi Momcat,
Honestly I do not like this separation between art and erotica because people might think that art does not include sexuality. I even think thoughts like this are a tragedy.
I don't want to say anything against Renderotica, but if Renderosity claims to be an artist's community then erotic art must have it's place here, a place not behind a fence in a separate gallery.

Until now I didn't care about marking my nude scenes but now I am convinced. It must be. Thanks ... got wiser! :)
But back to the TOS question.
I think it would help if Rosity installs a new 'counseler' forum, where the admins move in those pictures which cannot clearly be accepted or kicked out.
In this forum people can discuss the case and perhaps help the admin to get a clear measure for what has to be done with this picture. Finally he decides, gives a short explanation of his decision in the forum, closes the thread, puts the pic into the gallery or kicks it out.
Guess this procedure has some advantages: There is a better communication between admins and possibly frustrated communtiy members and/or artists. ;) The admina gets some new POVs which may help them to decide. And the artist gets a chance to rework his image before it is shot down.
What do you think about it?
