I spent some time using the saved materials on different outfits and it did finally work. Thank you so much for your help.

Just had another go at it and tried on your little window image to NOT check "selected nodes only"........and I think it has worked with that box empty. I will try again and make sure using it on another outfit.

Thanks for the help. I printed out your instructions and followed them step by step but somehow it didn't work for me. I tried enough with one I was trying to create so I loaded up a skirt, applied a purchased one I bought but changed the colour only. Then I tried to save it. It appeared in the library with an image etc. but when I loaded up another outfit and tried to apply my one with the colour change, half of the stuff had disappeared. I will include 2 images... one purchased material with just a quick colour change and then what appeared when I tried to use it again........... did I goof up somewhere??? As you can see all the attachments nodes etc aren't there.

In my download folder I still have a folder titled 2014 Rendo Xmas Freebies with 50 zips in it. A few are titled 3DSublime_Backgrounds_49378, AJ Steam_Power_Plant_49413, Anagord_Denim_Jean_Textures_49290

Just checked my download folder and there is the one from last year titled 2014 Rendo Xmas Freebies...... have such titles as 3DSublime Backgrounds 49378 AJ Steam Power Plant 49413 Anagord Denim Jeans Textures 49290 Frozen Star Classical Frames 49313 and 46 other zips...................................

I am sorry, but my heart just dropped when I read this announcement. I got to know Mary on the internet years and years ago. I got to know her through a forum I ran connected to my website and also through the Eclectic Guild as well. It was this fine and lovely lady whose work I admired so much that got me introduced to Poser because I wanted to be so much like her. I had used PSP for so long but I just loved Mary's images and she was so helpful as I got used to Poser 5. Hers is basically the only gallery I really look at here. I will miss her presence and her kind spirit in being so helpful to others and her images of her main interest in Space and Star Trek. My condolences to her family and friends. Words will never take away or soothe your loss but she was loved by a lot of people who had never physically met her but loved her anyway.

I will add that after the inception of Daz and being there for years and years, I stopped my membership and left because everything basically is for Genesis and V4 is an afterthought. 

I will not say anything against any programme or any character however I stopped after thousands upon thousands of dollars after V4 because the cost was getting too expensive for my bank account. When Daz went more with their programme and I have complete respect for their decisions and their future, but I was left out and therefore left to come spend my money mostly here or at RDNA.   The only visits back to Daz show me hair and poses and very few outfit choices anymore that aren't made for Genesis first..

I can see that is now happening here and after an absence of several months due to worries over credit card hacking, I came back today to go through about the first 8 pages of new items and see that most of the new outfits are for Genesis as well.  So now I will have to ponder whether I bother with Prime renewal since my days of buying new items and outfits etc may be soon over.   Once again if that is the way of the future then so be it..........but it doesn't mean I have to like the fact that I may have to brush up on my texturing skills again to at least have something new other than scenery, earrings and hair.

I have been hacked 3 times now since last September.  Only same purchases were here or Amazon and after getting notice sent out from Renderosity, I figure they might have been here then. The first two were testers for small amounts that the credit card company called me about but the third was for $1,000 worth of shoes and unfortunately I had to find that one and report it as fraud.. I got that straightened out and removed from my account but now my card is on watch for any other funny transactions.  May I make the suggestion of getting a small balance credit card from a store that offers them or some other entity other than your bank. I went with a major chain store and that way they have no access back to my bank accounts. Since  my fourth new card, I haven't shopped here other than a small purchase with Paypal. Frankly I am getting tired of getting calls and cancelled cards and now each one of the attacks on my card was done with the new number I had just been given............so someone is still watching somewhere and snatching because my third card only lasted 2 weeks before it had to be cancelled.  So beware.......don't know what can be done to keep safe anymore..........

MIne was hacked 3 times. This CC I only use for the internet so I know it was not in a store. Once last fall, and again  twice in this timeframe here within a month. No sooner did I get my 3rd card then a month later I was getting my 4th.  Don't know how much I will be spending anymore either until I can figure out what to do safely.

I certainly hope, as a hobbyist who has been working in Poser for years because I didn't like Daz, that the statement above is not as ominous as it sounds.  I spent thousands on V3 before finally giving in to V4 and now have spent thousands on her. Long ago I decided not to indulge in the new Genesis figures because I just didn't like the way they looked. In all honesty, I still don't. I found with the available things here with Silver and Sabby and other vendors, V4 was my favourite.  Now I have been forced out of my over 10 year membership with Daz and have been spending all my art money here. I too have been a little worried seeing more and more G2 items appearing, and that is why I am responding here.  I have no problems with more items here for those people involved with Daz or other figures, but I worry that V4 will be gone as it is over there and then my Poser days are over, unless of course I might want scenery. I guess it will be good for my bank account, but not for my spare time fun and enjoyment in my retirement.

So I hope there are still hopes for us that didn't want to venture into the latest figures but are good steady customers for anything with V4. I would hate to be forced out of Renderosity too because there is really, other than one other site, nowhere else to go to get the quality you do here.

That's just my two cents worth added to the commentary.............

Has there been any further word on this?  I bought it but haven't installed it yet because I read this message and thought I would wait if I have to download it again.

I went and tried the gamma and no gamma check in the box.  That did make a big difference so maybe it was checked in the auto settings and I didn't know what it was and just left it.. I posted two quickie samples I just tried.

The first is with the gamma checked and the second without.  I still will be carrying on with all your hints but at least I can start with a better look than I was getting.

I have downloaded what was suggested, I have saved some of your comments and in all reality, you people don't really understand when I said newbie, I meant it.  I did fine with just the basics in 7 and 9 but when I read suggestions in here, I do have to go find out later what some of the things you say actually mean.

The FK I stated was the Fabiana Mild Boreal and I used her metre high set for Mavka. With those I did fine and never really learned what all the other terms were.  I don't use Poser as much or as in such a complicated form as most of you do - I use beginner stuff but can see I will be learning a lot more now than I ever forced myself to learn before. I sit and read these forums and am in awe of all the stuff you know about the programme that I have never even heard off. I guess in my retirement I got comfortable with doing okay with my basic stuff but now will need to expand.

Please, as much as I love your advice and help, don't get more complicated than what you did here. I will go off now and see about the link offers and read up and learn about what help you already gave me. I watched the lighting tut here twice and will now go re-read the lighting chapter from the programme manual I printed out.

I did post a couple of simple portrait  images to my gallery that I did with Poser Pro 2o14 but then I had to take them into CS4 and lighten them up drastically to get them to where I wanted them to be.

First thing I am off to see what that gamma correction is and see what happens.
