Thread: V4 does not have charisma - at least not to me she doesn't what do you say? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree with Kalypso, each new generation of Victoria has brought exactly the same complaints. V4 has only just been released, there isn't even a decent set of "everyday" clothes available yet. It takes time for artists to build products like morphs, texture sets and clothes.
If you render a NV4IATWAS out-of-the-box with Poser's default lighting setup (which, btw I think is an awful, awful setup that they should have fixed back in version 5) then yes, she's going to look ugly and lacking charisma. But if you spend some time with the morph dials, get a decent texture, maybe even take the time to put some clothes on her, and most importantly light her well, then you'll get something that shows her potential.
@pjz99 - hehe, love that sneer :)

I posted a render in the Gallery that used this technique (inspired by Sin City)Thread: Whats the best way to render a character as if she is in black and white | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, after a couple of test renders I think I got a better result by plugging the characters texture map into the Value input of the HSV node and leaving all the values at 1.0
Here's a picture of the material room setup.

Your lighting setup will play a crucial role in the final look, of course - I used the Daz Global Outdoor for the test render.

The HSV node can desaturate the color (turn it grayscale) like you can do in Photoshop. This method easily lets you, say, make the face grayscale and keep the lips and eyes in color. Connect a HSV node to the diffuse color for your character, plug the character's texture map into the HSV color input and set the saturation to zero (or adjust to taste to vary the effect)
Thread: Poser with Motion builder | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Is it easy to learn?" I don't know what training is provided with version 6, but MB 5 came with a bunch of material, including a selection of video tutorials from 3DBuzz, which are excellent. You should try to get hold of the 3DBuzz videos from www.3dbuzz.com There was a tutorial that covered taking a Poser character into MB, but I don't recall if that was on the Kaydara website, or if Alias transferred it when they bought MB. You'll need to spend a little time setting up your characters' bones to work in Motionbuilder, but it's not difficult if you follow logically what needs to be done. Once you set up, for example, a skeleton for Vicky, you will be able to save that as a motionbuilder character and reuse it to apply whatever motion you want to Vicky. Of course, if Curious Labs were to implement FBX support in Poser 6, that would open up a lot of possibilities.

There is a very good explanation at the attached link. Quick guide to ProbeLight gratification: create a PL node, plug your image map into the PL surface color and plug the PL into the alternate diffuse node. Set the diffuse value of the main PoserSurface to 0. Set PL Saturation to 0, and the exposure to somewhere between 4 and 8, set the PL surface color swatch to white. . Switch off all lights in your scene and test render. Experiment with low intensity lights if you want shadows.Thread: Python script request: Scale all objects in scene? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Regarding animation flicker, I have heard of this happening in other render engines, it's not a Poser-related problem but a render solution issue.
Thread: Python script request: Scale all objects in scene? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You could parent your figures, cameras and spot lights to a prop box. Scale the box, and and the objects scale along with it (and it seems to save too). I have just tried parenting a V3 figure, conforming clothes (conformed to V3 but parented to the box), one spot light and both the Main and Aux cameras. As I dial up the scale of the box prop, V3 and the light on her seem to remain still as the ground appears to shrinf away (ie. the camera is scaling up along with eveything else). Regards, Sway

The Real Skin Shader script is an excellent product, I have no hesitation in recommending it to all Poaer users.

Yup, Ockham is very generous with his time and talent. My Python palette is set up with a button for his scripts - the lighting scripts are especially excellent. We salute you!
Thread: "Clothifying" breasts in P5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Girl morph pack does have breast morphs that could be used for jiggle. Or you could use magnets.

The picture is a promotional one from Tekken Tag - a cropped portrait appears in the booklet with the game.
